Kanban is an Agile project management methodology that focuses on visualising workflow and limiting work in progress. It is often used in software development, but can also be applied to other areas. The key element of the Kanban method is the Kanban board, which is used to visualise tasks in progress and track their progress. The Kanban process focuses on collaboration, transparency and continuous improvement. Team members work together to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the process and gradually eliminate them. Unlike Scrum, Kanban has no defined sprints and tasks are generally dealt with continuously. The team works on a set of priority tasks and new tasks are added to the Kanban board as they arise.
